At Camp Don Harrington
April 25, 2009
A hike for Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts
Third grade and older.
Hikers will visit ten Stations at Camp Don, hear a brief talk about a different faith, a section related to the religious emblem and an explanation of one of the Ten Commandments.
Third grade and older.
The Ten Commandments Hike is an opportunity to introduce youth to a variety of faiths. It is an interfaith and cross-cultural event. Scouts should gain greater understanding of the religions of fellow Scouts and greater tolerance of their religious beliefs. During each visit we will also introduce the Scouts and the adult church leaders to the Religious Emblems Program of that faith.
The Hike is a cooperative effort with Scouting and different faith groups in the Golden Spread Council.
Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts will be able to start and work on their religious emblems. Packs and Troops are encouraged to stay the night Saturday night.
This will be an annual event!
Scouts may come as individuals or as troops or packs.
Pre-registration will be required.
The Hike will last approximately six hours.
